Barb Borthistle is a Registered Professional Counsellor (Clinical) with the Canadian Professional Counselling Association. Barb has her Master of Leadership (OBC), Counselling education (PLBC) and is an Art Therapy Practitioner. She offers individual counselling for relational issues, anxiety, depression, grief, self-identity, and spiritual formation. She does relationship counselling for unmarried couples, using the Prepare/Enrich assessment. She has designed the course, At the Table to facilitate self-discovery, connection with the Creator, and inspiring healthy relationships. She has created a safe place for the refreshment of body, soul, and spirit through Whitestone Group Counselling and Soul spas. She has been married to Garth for 35+ years, they have 4 beautiful children, 3 in-laws and 3 grandchildren!

Counselling Style

I aim to provide an environment of safety, confidentiality, and acceptance, so you are able to share your story with honesty and openness. I collaborate with you to create reachable goals to target constructive change and move toward a healthier holistic life connecting body, soul, and spirit. I counsel women through issues such as stress management, relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, spiritual formation, self-discovery, work-life balance, creating a personal declaration, and parenting.

I use an integrated approach to counselling - facilitating self-awareness, understanding core values, offering practical life skills, person-centered talk therapy, gestalt therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, art, spiritual formation, grief therapy, solution-focused therapy, somatic therapy and appropriate client interventions.

Individual counselling services (online counselling) - $95/hour.

Relationship Counselling for Unmarried couples (online counselling) - $395/for 3 - 75 min. sessions plus the Prepare/Enrich Assessment ($60), this covers communication, conflict resolution, family dynamics, personality assessments, healthy sex, financial budgeting, and honest discussion.

Individual Mentoring services for women (online mentoring) - $95/hr. for personal mentoring with the At the Table Mentoring curriculum.

The Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) is a nationally recognized, independent, self-regulated, non-profit organization registered in accordance with the National Corporate Registry of Canada. The Association is governed by a National Board of Directors which is elected annually by its members.

CPCA Members are Registered Professional Counsellors and Master Practitioners in Clinical Counselling who are regulated and have received the RPC and/or MPCC designations upon meeting the competency-based criterion for membership.
